Puna Taiko classes:

• Sunday

  • 2:00 to 2:45 PM - Kids Class **Coming soon!!***

  • 3:00 to 4:30 PM - Adult Recreational

  • 4:30 to 6:00 PM - Advanced Performance

• Tuesday/Thursday

  • 3:00 to 4:30 PM - Beginner Performance  **New cohort starting Fall 2024**

  • 4:30 to 6:00 PM - Youth Performance

Youth Group recruitment season is currently closed - look for the Fall 2024 cohort to begin in late August/early September of this year!  

Sunday Recreational class is always open - Sundays at 3:00-4:30 pm.

Course Descriptions

• Beginner Performance:  A four-month workshop series that is an intensive pathway towards joining our Performance Group.  

• Youth Performance:  Youth Performance members that are continuing their studies.

• Advanced Performance:  Our older performers & travel squad.  Experienced drummers only.

• Kids Class:  Coming soon!  Open to children 7-10 years old.  Parents are encouraged/welcome to participate too!

• Adult Recreational Class:   This mixed-age class is also a mixed-skill session and is open to new members year round.

• Pahala Taiko:  A newer group based at the Pahala Hongwanji in Kau. 

• Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Taiko:  Located at the Hilo Betsuin campus.  Contact 808-961-6677 for more information!
